Challenge in Communication

  • Difficulty in maintaining eye contact, interpret voice, communication, facial expressions while talking with their family or friends.
  • Struggles to form proper words and sentences, even after being taught to use different words repetitively. They might know basic vocabulary but struggles to frame sentences.
  • Abnormal repetition of words, phrases, and actions that is constant and difficult to bring a halt in a repetitive pattern.
  • Exhibits sign language (example- waving, pointing, showing random objects) while communicating and may or may not hold an aversion in learning a language.
  • Fights to express their emotions, feelings, and needs in an unnatural pattern using signs and other subtle voices.

Struggle in social interactions

  • They exhibit difficulty in blending with family and friends but mostly play and spends time alone with themselves
  • Struggles in adapting to the variations in their routine. They may often respond to their surroundings differently regarding sensing, tasting, sighting things around them.
  • A difficulty in deciphering the feelings and emotions of their friends and family could hinder them in reciprocating their needs and emotions to their loved ones.
  • A resistance in being touched or loved by their closed folks. In some situations, it would lead to an outburst of aversion to communicate with their family and friends.
  • They tend to be sensitive to certain categories of food and beverages and often try to communicate their interests through vague sounds or signals.

Boost in Behavioral changes

  • Despite repeating instructions day in and out, they may find it difficult to follow and respond to the instructions. At times, children would reply once and refuse to do the same when asked later.
  • They act differently by showing unusual interest in certain toys, objects, or an activity and may often be obsessive and needy of those things which fascinate them. A danger to other children may not be threatening for them but a harmless object may turn to terrify them.
  • They often encounter with fluctuating mood changes. An outburst of laughs and cries are noticed in them with no apparent reasons.
  • Unusual movements caused due to an increase in muscular movements prompt them to be hyperactive and respond in vague patterns and signs to communicate.
  • Feeding and eating problems are seen mostly in autistic children. They hold a short attention span and may drop their focus and divert to other activities.
  • Aggression and Anger tantrums are evident when their demands or needs are not acknowledged and satisfied. They may act impulsive and struggles to convey their feelings and needs even to their closed ones.
